Pass Labs Xs Pre2

This large, dual-chassis preamplifier is built in true dual-mono arrangement. Each channel has its own power supply board with over 100,000uf of capacitance for unfettered transient response. Noise levels have been dropped from the already low-noise XP30. Refined circuit design and layout, new gain-stages with auto-bias and DC compensation all combine for optimal performance. But it all comes down to sound; once you listen to the Xs preamplifier, there is no going back.

Dual-Mono, Three-Chassis Design:

Each channel has its own power supply and circuit boards, and the power supply is also dual-mono with three double-shielded transformers

New Gain Circuit:

The gain circuit features higher bias, better stability, and lower noise, resulting in improved resolution and dynamics

Toshiba FETs and MOSFETs:

The input stage uses Toshiba FETs, and the output stage uses Toshiba MOSFETs. 

Class A Bias and Lower Output Impedance:

The output stage runs a higher class A bias, has auto-bias, and has lower output impedance, allowing it to drive long cable runs and various power amplifiers. 

• Class-A Operation: Operates "higher" into Class A than its predecessors.
• Dual-Mono Design: Uses a dual-mono design with three double-shielded transformers.
• Input/Output Impedance: 20k ohms RCA/40k ohms XLR (input) and 30 ohms RCA/60 ohms XLR (output).
• Gain: 10.5dB balanced gain.
• Power Consumption: 110 watts.
