Master-Tape Precision & Dynamic Authority | Available at Trimira Audio
The AVID ACUTUS™ Reference Black & Chrome Turntable represents a significant evolution of AVID HiFi’s flagship analogue engineering, combining advanced mechanical isolation, precision speed control, and enhanced power delivery for reference-level vinyl playback.
Finished in striking mirror-polished Chrome with contrasting black anodised components, the Acutus Reference builds upon AVID’s renowned suspended turntable architecture with a dedicated Reference Power Supply Unit designed to provide exceptional motor stability and rotational accuracy.
Featuring a 10 kg damped chrome-plated aluminium platter, inverted sapphire bearing system, dual-stage record clamping, and a three-point adjustable suspension platform, the Acutus Reference delivers exceptional timing, low noise performance, and detailed analogue reproduction.
Key Features & Technological Innovations
-
Dedicated Reference Power Supply: Features a substantial 1000VA mains transformer and 160,000µF energy storage capacity to provide clean, stable power delivery to the motor system.
-
Dual-Stage Grounding Record Clamp: Improves record coupling while helping transfer unwanted stylus-generated energy away from the vinyl surface.
-
10kg Chrome-Plated Aluminium Platter: High-mass platter construction with damping treatment and resin mat provides rotational stability and controlled resonance characteristics.
-
Inverted Sapphire & Tungsten Bearing: Precision bearing system uses a tungsten carbide thrust point and sapphire jewel interface for smooth, accurate platter rotation.
-
Damped Cast Aluminium Subchassis: Rigid aluminium construction with specialised damping treatment helps dissipate mechanical energy.
-
Adjustable 3-Point Spring Suspension: Tuned suspension system isolates the cartridge from footfall vibration and acoustic feedback.
