High-Current Class AB Performance & 7.2-Channel Preamp Expansion | Available at Trimira Audio
Designed and engineered in Canada, the Anthem MRX 540 8K AV Receiver brings reference-grade multi-channel performance to media rooms and dedicated home cinema installations. Combining 7.2 channels of discrete preamplifier processing with 5 channels of internal Class AB amplification, the MRX 540 8K powers classic 5.1 or 5.2 surround setups out of the box while offering expansion to a full 5.2.2 Dolby Atmos layout via an external 2-channel power amplifier.
The MRX 540 8K delivers robust continuous power, outputting 100 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms (or 130 Watts into 6 Ohms) with minimal distortion. Equipped with an upgraded HDMI 2.1 matrix video platform, it features 7 inputs and 2 outputs supporting 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz, eARC, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+. Integrated with Anthem's ARC™ Genesis room correction system (complete with a calibrated professional microphone), the receiver measures and corrects room boundary resonances to ensure tight, articulate bass and seamless soundstage integration.
Key Features & Technological Innovations
-
7.2 Preamp / 5 Amplified Channel Configuration: Features 5 internal Class AB amplifier channels backed by 7.2-channel RCA preouts, allowing easy expansion via external power amplification.
-
High-Current Class AB Amplification: Delivers 100W continuous output per channel into 8 Ohms across all five amplified channels for dynamic drive and low-frequency control.
-
ARC™ Genesis Room Correction: Includes Anthem's proprietary calibration software and precision microphone to optimize phase, frequency response, and dual-subwoofer timing.
-
HDMI 2.1 Video Platform: 7 HDMI inputs and 2 outputs supporting 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz pass-through, ALLM, VRR, eARC, and Dolby Vision.
-
Audiophile-Grade DAC Stage: Leverages premium 32-bit/768 kHz digital-to-analogue conversion to achieve ultra-low noise (-100 dB THD+N) and transparent audio playback.
-
Platform-Agnostic Streaming: Integrated wireless streaming support for Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Roon, and Bluetooth v4.2.
-
Web-Based Interface & IP Control: Configured easily via browser interface or the Anthem Remote App, with native IP control integration for Control4, Crestron, Savant, and ELAN.
