High-Density Whole-Home Power & Architectural Flexibility | Available at Trimira Audio
The Anthem MDX-12 Distribution Amplifier brings reference-grade multi-room power and custom-integration versatility to multi-zone residential audio and home theatre installations. Designed into an ultra-compact 1U rack-mount chassis, the MDX-12 delivers 75 Watts RMS per channel into 8 Ohms (or 150 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms) across 12 channels, driven by a high-efficiency 1,000-Watt power supply.
Unlike its matrix-DSP processor siblings (the MDX-8 and MDX-16), the MDX-12 is built specifically as a streamlined, pure power delivery engine. It features 6 zone-specific stereo RCA inputs alongside 2 global stereo buss inputs, enabling seamless connection to external matrix switchers, streamers, or AV processors. Channel pairs can be individually bridged to output a massive 280 Watts into 8 Ohms, making the MDX-12 equally adept at driving power-hungry architectural speakers or expanding channel counts in high-channel home theatre layouts.
Key Features & Technological Innovations
-
High-Density 1U Form Factor: Delivers 12 channels of Class-D power in a single rack-space unit (1.75 in / 44.5 mm height) with included rack ears and feet.
-
Flexible Channel Bridging: Individual zone channels can be bridged to produce 280 W RMS into 8 Ohms for high-output architectural subwoofers or demanding passive speakers.
-
Dedicated & Global Buss Inputs: Equipped with 6 individual stereo RCA inputs (one per zone) plus 2 global buss inputs with loop-through outputs to daisy-chain additional amplifiers.
-
Ultra-Low Distortion Performance: Engineered for audiophile-grade fidelity with a THD+N rating of just 0.002%.
-
Detachable Phoenix Connectors: Heavy-duty removable Euroblock/Phoenix terminal blocks accommodate up to 12 AWG speaker wire for fast, clean installation.
-
Advanced System Protection & Thermals: Features fan-assisted cooling and integrated safeguards against thermal overload, short circuits, and voltage spikes.
-
Flexible Power Management: Auto-sensing audio signal turn-on, 12V trigger input/loop-through, and continuous power modes for seamless integration with automation systems.
