The D9.2 is quite possibly the finest loudspeaker Spendor have ever made. The D9 is a different kind of beast having cutting edge dynamics and resolution that the un-braced cabinet designs of the Classic series do not approach.

We have found this to be the end run for those we call the seeker clients. That is that select group of dedicated audiophile clients who may take literally years to hunt down and find their particular loudspeaker nirvana. This is like that hunt for the holy grail of loudspeaker that gives all the detail and all the emotion. These very dedicated people will take years to find their perfect loudspeaker. An elegant, modern, 3-way loudspeaker, the D9 delivers music with exceptional resolution and a vibrant realism with any genre. Easy to drive and highly efficient, the D9 is also remarkably flexible and can be placed in any living environment.

The Spendor D9 builds on the Spendor D7 with one more drive unit. Both the D7 and the D9 employ a 5G linear flow port at the back and have one set of recessed speaker terminals. The D9 uses size, two bass drive units and the 5G (fifth generation) linear flow port to extend the low frequency response. Spendor quote a frequency response for the D9 of 27 Hz to 25 kHz. Sensitivity is a very reasonable 90 Db for 1 Watt at 1 metre with a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms.

• Dynamic damping with small low mass constrained polymer dampers at key energy interface points instantly convert any spurious energy in the cabinet structured into heat

• The four feet supporting the cabinet can be levelled and are attached via forged steel inserts for stability of the cabinet.

• The four drive units in the D9 are all built by Spendor and are HF – Spendor 22mm, LPZ polyamide dome, Mid – Spendor 18 cm EP77 polymer cone and Bass – 2 times Spendor 18 cm EP777 polymer cone.
