Uncompromising Micro-Detail Retrieval & Spatial Focus | Available at Trimira Audio
The AVID BORON™ Reference Moving Coil (MC) Cartridge represents AVID HiFi’s highest level of analogue transducer engineering, designed to extract exceptional detail, timing, and spatial information directly from the vinyl groove.
Handcrafted in England, the BORON™ combines an ultra-low-mass moving coil generator, solid boron cantilever, Micro-Ridge diamond stylus, and precision-machined aluminium body to deliver accurate tracking, wide bandwidth, and refined musical expression.
Designed for use with high-performance tonearms and premium MC phono stages, the BORON™ provides a highly detailed and transparent connection between record groove and analogue system.
Key Features & Technological Innovations
-
Solid Boron Cantilever: Provides an excellent stiffness-to-mass ratio for fast transient response, accurate tracking, and precise musical timing.
-
Nude Micro-Ridge Diamond Stylus: Advanced stylus profile tracks fine groove detail with reduced distortion and improved inner-groove performance.
-
Low-Output Moving Coil Generator: Custom coil system provides a clean 0.32 mV output for excellent dynamic range and low-noise performance.
-
Resonance-Controlled Aluminium Body: Precision-machined black anodised aluminium housing helps manage unwanted mechanical energy and internal reflections.
-
Alignment-Friendly Body Design: Square body geometry assists accurate cartridge setup, including azimuth, zenith, and overhang adjustment.
-
Premium MC Compatibility: Designed for integration with high-quality MC phono stages and suitable step-up transformers with appropriate loading.
