The Definitive Statement in Analogue Engineering | Available at Trimira Audio
The AVID ACUTUS™ Classic Chrome Turntable represents the pinnacle of AVID HiFi’s analogue engineering philosophy, combining precision mechanical design, advanced vibration control, and exceptional rotational stability for reference-level vinyl playback.
Handcrafted in Cambridgeshire, England, the Acutus Classic is engineered around a high-mass platter, advanced bearing system, suspended subchassis, and dedicated DSP-controlled motor drive. Every element is designed to minimise unwanted vibration, maintain accurate speed, and extract the finest musical detail from the record groove.
Featuring a 10 kg chrome-plated aluminium platter, inverted sapphire and tungsten bearing system, adjustable three-point suspension, and external DSP Vari-Speed power supply, the Acutus Classic delivers outstanding timing, dynamics, and analogue refinement.
Key Features & Technological Innovations
-
10 kg Chrome-Plated Aluminium Platter: High-mass precision platter with resin damping technology provides rotational stability while controlling unwanted resonance.
-
Inverted Sapphire & Tungsten Bearing: Advanced bearing design uses a tungsten carbide thrust point and sapphire jewel interface to minimise mechanical noise and maintain long-term precision.
-
Dual-Stage Record Clamping System: Improves vinyl coupling to the platter while helping reduce unwanted record movement and energy transfer.
-
Adjustable 3-Point Suspension: Tunable suspension system provides isolation from external vibration while supporting single or twin tonearm configurations.
-
Vibration-Tuned Cast Subchassis: Damped aluminium construction helps dissipate mechanical energy while maintaining structural rigidity.
-
DSP Vari-Speed Control Unit: External power supply provides precise motor control, speed stability, and adjustable pitch control.
