The JBL Synthesis® One Array system pairs a dual 8-inch SAM2LF low frequency speaker module with a SAM1HF mid/HF module to create a bi-amplified LCR speaker system capable of generating clean frequencies from 80Hz to 40kHz. The SAM1HF and SAM2LF modules can be installed horizontally into a wall or joined together vertically for installation either in-wall or freestanding on the floor.
The SAM1HF’s titanium ultra-high frequency compression driver and aluminium high frequency compression driver are mounted in SonoGlass® constant directivity horns ensuring exceptional directional and tonal accuracy. The SAM2LF, with two 200mm (8”) aluminium sub-bass drivers, can be mounted below or to the side of a SAM1HF. For side and rear channel duties four S4Ai THX® certified dipolar surround loudspeakers are employed, each using dual 8” LF drivers and dual 2” horn loaded titanium HF drivers. All sub bass and LFE information is handled by two S1S-EX THX® certified subwoofers, each housing an 18” sub bass driver. Power and control are provided by four separate amplifiers: two S820 stereo power amplifiers generating a combined output of up to 1600 watts into an 8 ohm load; a single S7165 (7x165W) amplifier and one S5165 (5x165W) amplifier.
Precision high definition AV routing, room equalisation, speaker calibration and system control are all achieved via a combination of the SDP40HD AV Processor and SDEC4500 12 channel input /20 channel output Digital Equalisation System. Each Synthesis® One Array system is calibrated on site precisely to match room acoustics. The procedure involves the use of eight separate microphones to ensure that the sound at every listening position is optimised.
